MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Greenville Figure Skating Club is to promote the sport of figure skating in our community through various programs for skaters of all ages and levels. We strive to provide a safe and welcoming environment so that skaters can practice and advance in pursuit of their personal goals.
About the Greenville Figure Skating Club
The Greenville Figure Skating Club (GFSC) has proudly served the Upstate skating community for more than 34 years as a member club of U.S. Figure Skating. Today, our club is home to more than 125 members of all ages and skill levels, from young children taking their first steps on the ice to collegiate and adult skaters. Our mission is to promote excellence in figure skating while supporting each member's personal goals—whether that means skating recreationally, performing, testing, or competing.
GFSC is a nonprofit organization with federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, led by a volunteer Board of Directors and supported by dedicated club volunteers. Throughout the year, we provide opportunities for members to grow both on and off the ice through exhibitions, performances, test sessions, educational seminars, social events, and our annual Awards Banquet. One of our favorite traditions is producing our annual Christmas Show, along with at least one additional skating production.
Our home rink is the Pavilion Recreation Complex in Taylors, South Carolina, where many of our activities take place. We also partner with other area rinks and guest coaches to offer specialized clinics, seminars, and testing opportunities. Local coaches provide instruction in singles, skating skills, ice dance, choreography, power and edge development, and off-ice conditioning.
While many Greenville FSC members compete at local, regional, sectional, and national events, competition is only one of many paths in figure skating. Whether your goal is to master new skills, perform in shows, test through the U.S. Figure Skating program, stay active as an adult skater, or simply enjoy being part of a welcoming skating community, Greenville FSC is here to support your journey. Together with your coach, we'll help you discover the path that's right for you.
What's It Like to Be Part of GFSC?
Being a member of the Greenville Figure Skating Club means becoming part of a supportive skating community that celebrates every skater's journey. Whether you're performing in exhibitions, testing new skills, competing, or simply enjoying time with fellow skaters, there's always something to look forward to.
Our members have opportunities to perform throughout the Upstate at events such as Swamp Rabbits hockey games, Ice on Main in Greenville and Spartanburg, Tryon Winterfest, and the US Figure Skating National Championship in Greensboro, NC. Skaters have expanded their training by attending camps and seminars, including Train with the Best Camp in Nashville, Tennessee, ProSkaters in Knoxville, Tennessee, and American Ice Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.
On competition and test days, you'll find skaters cheering each other on, celebrating accomplishments, and offering encouragement every step of the way. Off the ice, friendships continue to grow through club social events like Glow Golf, escape rooms, pool parties, and other activities throughout the year.
At GFSC, you're not just joining a skating club—you're becoming part of a community that supports, encourages, and celebrates one another both on and off the ice!
